A reproduction of a Slovak mine has been built in the museum to demonstate the environment and machinery of a mine. In this reproduction of a mine the entrances to the mine shafts are named after people who we e important to mining in this area, for example: Jozef Karol HELL /1713-1789/and Krištof Traugott DELIUS /1728-1779/a represented in the mining gallery. Hanging on the walls of the stair case are lamps from this era in mining. The entrance space is devoted to the history of basic mining equiptment. This basic mining equiptment became the symbol of the mining profession. In particular there are i ons and hammers and other implements for the extraction of minerals.

The visitor's attention is drawn to an iron forged bar from which are hung different sorts of lamps from the oldest to the present times. There are examples of the safety lamps made by Friemen and Wolf, carbide and accumulator electric lamps.A lighted map eflects the succesive localities of shaft ore mining, coal, oil and gas in Slovakia. The artistic decorations -eliefs with mining themes and the statue of the miner from the academic sculptor Arpád Račko intensifies the mining environment. While visiting the exposition the visitor becomes familiar with the activities and with the functions of the machines used in basic wo king operations like drilling and blasting operations, loading and drawing. The machines present in the exposition allow the possibility to show the eal wo king process of the equipment. All the equiptment is functional and operational. In order create the appropriate atmosphere it was necessary to place examples of utility minerals from the individual deposits of the Špis-Gemer ore mountains in the walls. From this entry oom the visitor can continue on to other simulated mine shafts which epresent a true imitation of the mining underground places of wo k.In the interier of the longwall face there is demonstrated the mining of manganesium ore with the method of longwall mining in the Kišovce- Švábovce location. In the mining expostion different types of timber structures needed in places of high stress are exhibited. The visitor walks through a classic low and narrow mining tunnel -gallery,that is arranged with typical wooden support timbers. The horizontal mining wo k is ended by the heading that epresents the mineralogical structure of the copper ore deposit in Slovinky.Included in the machine equipment exposition is a ladle loader, type NL 12,the product of the enterprice Kovolis Hedvíkov, from 1958,with which is demonstrated the wo king operation of the louding of blasted mineral. As the visitor continues along this out it takes him to another part, where the mining shaft is protected with steel profile timbering, whic is well-known in the world under the mark of TH /Toussaint -Heintzmann/.The wo king face is made from samples of magnesite coming from dolomite carbonats deposits near Košic.In this section the visitor can see a drilling car Manda, type VVM 06.Through a low orifice the visitor comes to the original place of the miner -wo king face. For loading there is a scraper ladle and small hoisting winch, which epresents one of the most extended ways of the mechanical extracting of ores and non-ore mines in Slovakia. The wo king face is made from magnesite -dolomiteś.minerals Part of the exposition is dedicated to transport technology, especially to horizontal transport. The of the last shaft is made from a varied composition of the minerals:siderite, baryto, chalcopyrite, tetraedrite and another minerals, that are characteristic of the ironore deposit in Rudňany. There is a one-armed sinking machine, also the product of the Salzgitter Maschinen AG f om 1957. Except for in iron mines the machine was used for the sinking of tunnels in the stone pits. This part of the mining exposition is livened up by the "Ore and metal",an artistic creation by the sculptor Arpád Račko from Košice. The mining exposition with its special o ganisation and with its attractiveness is the best in the museum.
